This project is aimed at learning a lot of programming, and in the process also creates an online game. The objective is to make the game have features like 3d graphics, Sound and online playability.
The project is aimed at learning while working. Every team member should learn a lot during the process of making this game. The goal is to have achieved enough experience from this project to work in other similar projects without problems in the future.
Everyone in the project are professional developers, therefore the goal is a well presented end product.
Wonder World will be developed in Visual Basic and with the use of DirectX 7.
The Activity list is not finished and is not ordered in any way. Suggestions for more activities are welcome.
The time schedule is very dependent on how much work is put into this project. Since everyone is working full time it can be a low priority. I hope that everyone that has agreed to work in this project will put in enough hours to keep this project moving forward all the time.
By week 44 time game idea and characters should be decided. The first learning period for the programmers should be finished by week 48. There should be a user interface description by the New Year.
Look at the preliminary time plan
This is a voluntary project. That means that the team members have decided to join this project. Therefore the project members have to follow the guidelines for the project. The time plan should be followed when it has been agreed. Since the project is run by free will there is no sanction system for not delivering on time. But I hope that everyone will accept the burden they are willing to carry, therefore the time plan might need adjustments, but when agreed on it will be kept if possible.
The game idea has not been fully formalised yet. See the FAQ for some information.
