| Background | In-depth experience of conducting an original investigation, whether based on field work, laboratory work, existing sources of information, or a mixture of those, is considered essential for tropical coastal management and this module offers such experience. | ||||
| Aims | To develop whichever of the skills and areas of knowledge gained during taught course work are considered appropriate for the agreed study plan, and prepare for more effective participation in professional programmes involving original investigations. | ||||
| Objectives | By the end of the dissertation project you will have: (1) strengthened your ability to devise and plan a study relevant to tropical coastal management, (2) enhanced your experience in extracting, collating and synthesising background information for a focused study, and (3) increased your professional capacity to conduct original investigations and prepare substantive reports. | ||||
