HOW TO FOOL THE COPS!
Olle Torg is a police detective in Gothenburg, Sweden, and a pro on interrogating suspect criminals.
Now heīs written a handbook in the art of getting away without damages from a police-interrogation.
Here are Olleīs best advice if you get caught.
1. SHUT UP!
- Everything you say can be used against you. Itīs up to the district attorney to proove that youīve
done something criminal. And you have no obligation to make his job easier. Sometimes the police tell
you that they are only asking "routine questions". But what you say is noted and can be used against you. Do definately not say anything when youīve just been arrested. And donīt forget that the interrogation becomes public once the case reaches the court.
2. LIE
- You may not blaim crimes on innocent people, but otherwise you may lie as much as you need.
3. STAY AWAY
- You donīt risc to be punished if you donīt care to show up when the police calls you for questioning.
4. FOLLOW THEM VOLUNTARY
- If you cause trouble when the police comes to get you, you risc both getting a beating aswell as
charges for obstructing an officer on duty. Follow them nicely and let the state legal advisor look into matters.
5. BRING A LAWYER
- To defend yourself is as wrong as being your own surgeon when yourīe unconscious.
6. BRING A FRIEND
- You have the right to bring a good friend as moral support with you during the questioning.
7. WRITE INSTEAD
- Write down what you have to say at home, in peace. Leave the note to the police. After that you can be quiet.
8. WATCH OUT WITH YOUR CONSCIOUS
- As a suspect you may hear that you have to "take your responsability and confess". Donīt ever
fall into that trap. If youīre guilty - isnīt it than better to bring it up with God at evening prayer and never do it again?
9. WARNING FOR EASILY FOOLED POLICEMANS
- The interrogator may not object when you tell him a totally stupid lie. The intent is to make you look as non reliable when it gets to court.
10. DONīT MIND THREATS AND PROMISES
- Itīs the court who decides which punishment you shall get. And not the policeman interrogating you. And youīll hardly get less punishment for telling on your friends.
11. DONīT BELIEVE THE POLICEīs BLUFFS
- Donīt believe that your accomplish has confessed. Interrogators may say so to crack you so you begin to talk.
12. DEMAND A COPY
- allway sask for a copy of the interrogation-protocol. Whatīs not in the protocol youīve never said.
And what youīve never said you never have to regret.
13. NEVER SIGN
- Donīt sign fines and simular you get from the police.Allways demand to take it to court.
