H&K MP5 Kurz. This is the smallest of Marui's AEG's. The finnish
is excellent, there is even weld marks reproduced in the plastic
material. Very nice. And since the plastic is "spraypainted", it
looks real good.
The "K" uses the small AK battery, and the battery is tricky
to change, so no changes is made in the field. The small 28bb
clip that comes with the "K" is made from plastic and not metal
as the 50bbs is. The 50bb clips is hard to reload because
they're bent. But there is no jams when you fire. The
fireselect switch is easy to flip, even for lefthanded people
because the switch is on both sides. Shooting is nice, but there is
one problem. The bullet goes in an arc, so the sight is not right
and the rear sight doesn't adjust much vertically, which would
fix the problem. This might just be the case on some of the MP5K, but problably not. I like the H&K G3 rearsights better.
The motor is an EG700, and the mechbox is a version 3. The barrel is only 110 mm long so the accuracy and the range is not so good, compared with a FA MAS, but the FA MAS barrel is more than 4.4 times longer. But the "K" is compact, and that's what the
MP5K is all about. If you want range you shouldn't get a weapon that's not even 33cm long. With a weight of only 1.5kg, the gun can easily be used one handed.
Using the weapon is fun, and if you play in very dense terrain, as we often do, you will appreciate the compactness even in a Woodland game. But, it's made for CQB and in CQB it's a dream, and if the HopUp is set to zero, the weapon don't have to be used upright.
Overall a very nice compact weapon, but don't expect much range
and accuracy, so woodland games is interesting.
