In Sweden there's a lot of classic/wooden Chris Craft owners, mostly of them have runabouts. But some of them own cruisers and yachts, and luckily me and my companion have one of them. We bought it 3 years ago and it was almost a wreck then. But a wreck means a better price though. And now we are working all days to restore the boat in original condition. To do that in Sweden is not easy though, It's not easy to get parts or find people who now the history of each or a special boat, even though it's a lot of people who have CC's, So you always have to depend of your own knowledge, or if you are lucky you might find someone there to help you. Well the restoring goes on, but will be almost finished to the summer of -97, Its difficult to make this work without any sponsor what so ever, and only to people that have to share all the costs, but hopefully it will work somehow Now days there is internet, and that's just very good, it have helped me a lot in my search to know more about our boat, but there is always more to learn and more to find out .
Anyway here is the story (at least what i know of ) about our CC.
Model name: Cavalier ( I was told that all Chris craft models named Cavalier where build out of plywood.)
Hull no: VBA360012H ,Which is no: 12 of only 45 build in 1965
Engines: 2 x Chevrolet 327 cc, Corvette engines. hp 2 x 210
Length: 36 ". 36 feet. is as far i know the biggest wooden CC in Sweden, but there is a t least 4 or 5 of the 35 ft. long ones, like Constellation and Commander all in good shape.
Build: 1965 ( in ,Holland , Michigan. and not in Virginia or Pompano beach FL as i was told the first way)
No handling of the sales or shipment from US find yet. But probably ,as a new boat direct to Sweden. Some handling here in Sweden show that. There is some handling in the Swedish Royal Yacht Club that shows that the boat was a member there 1966 ?
But information ( any kind ) of Cavalier yacht's like this is always welcomed and will be thankfully appreciated. If you have any info, suggestions or just want to talk about Chris craft ...just e-mail me. Adress at top of page.
