Hi Ronny:
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I've been up to my eyeballs
in several projects.
I looked up and printed out your home page. Nice job !
I think you'll find that your boat was built in Holland, Michigan, USA,
not Pompano Beach, Florida. Your serial number ends in "H". In the
1960's, that indicated that the boat was built at the Holland, MI,
plant. So was my 1966 Constellation.
You can get a lot of information on your boat (copy of original Hull
Card, engineering drawings, etc.) by contacting Charlotte Valentine
at the Chris Craft Collection archives at the Mariners' Museum,
Norfolk, Virginia, USA. Go to my home page:
(users.dpnet.net/users/brad0235)(no www.)
Schroll down and click on "Chris Craft Web Sites". Click on the
first item: "Mariners'Museum". When their home page comes up,
schroll down until you see "Chris Craft Collection" on the left.
Click on that. You'll see a description of all they have about
Chris Crafts. Send Charlotte an e-mail with your questions.
She's very knowledgeable and very helpful.
Best regards,
Bob Brady

Thank you Bob.For replying.
I have to say that your boat looks like an excellent one,and you have won a lot of prices as well i could see
that must feels great, when offering a hard time with all the work and money.
How much would you get if would sell it in US,are people interested in old wooden Chris craft cruisers there?
Or is it like here in Sweden that people love them as long they don't have to work with them. That concerns all
the wooden boats.
The money is the problem here in Sweden because here is no Chris craft dealer anymore ( i don't know why)
so all parts and stuff had to be ordered from US and the price would rise higher then high.
I have spoke to Charlotte at Mariners museum and i know
about all their involvements in Chris craft,But they want money for research fee,and i don't think that they
answer any questions without getting paid,or do they ? correct me if I'm wrong.Maybe you know if its possible
to correspond with Charlotte by e-mail,just to ask simple questions about Chris craft.
You just come up with such information that I'm looking for,I didn't know that Chris craft had a factory in
Holland ,VA. So that was very important to know.
To show my gratefulness i will now put a link to your site on my own
So the "H" stands for Holland then. Do you know what
the rest of the serial no: stands for "VBA" ? I know about the figures because Charlotte said that the no:
0012 was the 12th builded of 45 in 1965. My curiosity is if there would be any of the other 44 left in "life"
or if they have turn to wreck all of them. What i know of is our example the only one in Sweden
but i don't know if there could be any other left in Europe or US,and that would be very great to know
and maybe find someone that could send some pictures. And one other problem for me is that, inside in the
biggest room (saloon, i don't know if you are calling it that in US) some former owner have done some terrible
restorations and throw most of the pentry away and some other things as well,so I'm not sure how it should look
like anymore. Maybe its to hard to ask but since your Constellation and our Cavalier are very likely to each
other on the outside by comparing photos, I was wondering if they are in the inside to. Do you know of that ?
would it be possible for you to send me some pictures more closely taken both inside and outside. That could
make me a great help in my further work with my boat. And hopefully i could help you with something as well
I don't know what that could be but I would gladly do if i could. If you don't want to do that,
I will appreciate your help anyway.
I figure your hull
is builded in mahogany plank,is that right ?
I got this letter from another Chris craft fan.

>> Hi Ronny: All the boats Chris Craft built out of plywood were called
Cavalier. They ranged in size from 16 foot ski boats up to cruisers. Plywood
was less expensive in mass production when CC had to start competing with
fibreglass in the mid 1960's. Charles Dallas, Texas.
Is he right about that ? It sounds logical to me.
Well thank you once again.
