DHI Cup were held in Denmark from the 11th to 13th of January. I was there, and despite the radio interference and the bad result, I really enjoyed the event. One thing in particular was good, the complete control wheels. You were only allowed to use Orion/HB type B tires on Orion/JB wheels with Orion/JB blue foams. I think it was an excellent idea, since it makes it more affordable for the racers. The tires had really good grip and seemed to have a good wear rate too. 2 sets were allowed for the race, but a lot of racers only used one new set plus their practise set. I personally believe you could have used only one set without problems.

This idea with complete control wheels, is something I think we should consider at all indoor carpet races in Sweden. I've heard that the Take Off CS-22 tires have as much grip as the Orion tires, but with less tire wear. I've heard they last between 50 and 100 runs. CS-22 also work good with the included inserts. The only drawback is that the tires might need tire additives, but with today's non smelling compounds I think the good grip and life span compensates that. I will let you know what I think when I have tested the tires.

It's been a while since I wrote here last time. The indoor season has already started. The fastest drivers so far in Sweden seem to be Andreas Myrberg (HPI), Jonas Andersson (HPI), Jonas Nyrén (AE) and Mikael Fransson (X-Ray).

In less than two weeks, it's time for Procar Open in Eskilstuna. It seems like it will be the biggest touring car race ever in Sweden with drivers coming from all the nordic countries except Iceland. Although I haven't practiced very much, I feel confident for the race.

I'm back from the LRP race. An awesome experience. I came in 26th place which is ok considering the problems I had in the free practise. I know I was capable of making B-main, but there is always an "if". :) It was also my first time down there, so I'm ok with the results. Next time I know I will do better.

Teemu Leino was in a class of his own IMO. The only person who could match his laptimes was Andreas Myrberg, but he lacked a bit of consistency and had a lot of bad luck in the mains. He came home in 5th place though, which still is the best result a swede has done in many years. He was runner up in qualifying, which meant he was faster than three world champions, Masami, Hara and Spashett!

I may write a race report when I get my pictures back from the lab. it depends on if I have time. We'll see.

The biggest touring car race in Sweden was held last weekend in Trollhättan. The PTCC Final was a great end to the swedish indoor season. Too bad I didn't do that good. I mean, I came in 4th place this year compared to 6th place last year and that's good, but I wasn't as close to the winner in qualifying as last year.

My conclusions are that I have to focus more on improving my driving style when practising. Before I might have been focusing a bit too much on testing setup changes. From now on, I will try to have a better balance between these two things.

So that's it for this indoor season!?....Nope! I still have one more event to attend, and it's the annual LRP Touring Car Masters in Heidelberg, Germany. It will probably be the biggest international carpet race this winter, with world class drivers from all around the world. It will be my first international race with touring cars and I don't know what to expect, but I will for sure do the best I can. So long...

Today I took some pictures of my new body. This was the first body I painted with my Aztek airbrush. I had some problems with air/paint mixture and I also made a few mistakes, but I'm quite happy with the results considering that it was my first body with a dual action airbrush. Tomorrow I will practise in Uppsala together with Jonas E, Nicky, and Konrad. I have a few interesting setup ideas to test and hopefully they will work. =)
