7. Swedes who emigrated to the U.S.A. at the end of the 19th century. In the U.S. there are several other families with this surname. Some immigrants took the surname Windahl at the end of the 19th century, when they had arrived at the U.S.,e.g. descendants of John Bengtsson from Malmoe and of Gustaf Adolf Gustafsson. The later, born in 1864, took his surname about 1894 in Chicago.
