Harlem Grasshoppers

Historical facts about the team The club was originally founded by a soccer team (Kvarnvikens IK) at the end of the 70's. They wanted to add some basketball training to their normal winter soccer training and have some fun at the same time. There was a player in the team that was not very good at english, who always called the world famous Harlem Globetrotters for Harlem Grasshoppers. When the baskeball club was founded there was no discussion about what name the team should have. As time has gone by the club has survived but all the players in it has changed. The club has alway had a connection to Blackeberg Basket and many of the players today are former members of Blackeberg that can't (or don't want to) practise so much ... now that they are getting older. The average age has been closer to 35 than 30, but we're always hopeful to lower that by recruitung some new players under the age of 30. We're competing with the team Vraken (another Blackeberg team with old-timers) in recruiting players from the Blackebergs players pool so it could be tough to reach our goal of getting younger.
