I bought this used 6 element KT34XA antenna, made by KLM, in late 1997. I made some refreshments to the antenna during my summer vacation 1998, like changing to new capacitor caps and removing corrosion and so on.

Here are som clickable thumbnails from September 16th 1998, the day it was time to put the KT34XA antenna up on the tower, at a height of 20 meters.

Unfortunately it was a dark, grey day with smooth rain, not a very good day for taking photos! The photos take a lot of time to download, you have to be patient!

Final adjustments on the antennas at ground level!

The mobile crane with driver we hired!

The antenna system ready to take off!

I am climbing up the tower!

I am at the top of the tower and the antenna is on the way!

I could catch the mast tube!

The mobile crane driver is concentrated!

Steering the mast tube into the top hole of the tower!

With both feet on top of the tower, I am loosening the hook!

The final result!

Thanks to the very good mobile crane operator and the help from Jan SM5FQQ and Lasse SM5LVU,
we put the antenna system up on the tower with no problems at all.

The photos were taken by Jan SM5FQQ using his digital camera.
