Vicksburg Theatre Gold In the Hills (Applet) This page is an example of how create a somewhat modern page on a server (AOL) where cgi and long extension applets may not be allowed. It does show how to incorporate some of the common javascript tools commonly used on numerous pages about the web into a coherent product: image map, forms, and Admission Calculator. Javascript downloads faster than a similar applet-based approach, and may be a better choice. Unfortunately some of the features such as mailing the form contents only work with fully HTML 2.0 compliant browsers that include the extension for mailto action on forms, but if one can't use CGI what else can one do. I claim no originality other than a way to get the most out of a restrictive server environment (in fact if anyone knows who first came up with using Javascript for image maps and calculators I will be glad to credit them in a hidden comment).
