Welcome to my page about the Indigo girls. Where I live Sweden there are not many people that have heard of them. Indigo girls have their biggest fan base in North America. Indigo girls are Emily Sailers and Amy Ray both are from Decatur, Georgia in the USA. This page has just been reworked and redesigned plus that I have added two under pages - albums and links. There are not that many links to start with but I will add more in the near future.

The first song that I heard from Indigo girls was 'Closer to fine' back in '89.This song is on their second album simply called 'Indigo girls'. After heard the song I bought the album and direct really like it. Before this album they had released an album called 'Strange fire' in 1987 that was released in 1989. 'Strange fire' is their most acoustic album so far.

The third album 'Nomads Indians Saints' from 1990 were a step back from the sound on the second album to a more low key. The album 'Nomads Indians Saints' is a great album with songs like 'Hammer and a nail' and many other great songs. The forth is a live album it came in 1991 and is called 'Live back on the bus, y'all'. The songs on this album are from the tree first albums plus a cover of All along the watchtower (a Bob Dylan song).

My favourite album 'Rites of passage' by the band came in 1992. This album is an album that I can that I have listen to many times. Why is it so great? The quality of the songs is the biggest factor and with songs like Galileo, Joking and Virginia Wolf and many more great songs on the album, it's no question why. Rites of passage are one of the few albums that I have that only include great songs.

With their sixth album 'Swamp Ophelia' the band started to a trend that has continued on the bands other albums - the use of more and more electric guitars. The record was released two years later after 'Rites of passage' in 1994. 'Swamp Ophelia' is a mixture with both acoustic sounded songs and rock-oriented songs. The album did not reach the same height as 'Rites of passage' it's still a very good album.

Between 'Swamp Ophelia' and 'Shaming on the sun' they released in 1995 two albums first a greatest hits collection '4.5' and then a double live CD 1200 curfews. I think that 1200 curfews are better to show the material from the past years than 4.5. On 1200 curfews there are 27 songs here you really understand how great songs both Amy and Emily have written over the years. Indigo girls released their first studio albums for three years in 1997 called 'Shaming of the sun'. 'Shaming of the sun' has the same feeling like Rites of passage this because slowly grows on you. The four first songs are the one that I first really like on this album and the rest slowly grows on you.

Indigo girls now have released 10 albums since the start. The new album 'Come on now social' really has grown on me since I got my copy some weeks ago. I am not sure how good it yet. If you like Indigo girls other albums just buy it!
