Gwen Stefani May Show Up In "Belly"

No Doubt's Gwen Stefani, now famous for singing "Don't Speak," maybe be required to speak soon. The platinmum-haired frontwoman is in negotiations to act in "Belly," the feature film debut from busy video director Hype Williams, who has directed clips for Missy Elliot, Will Smith, and R. Kelly.

Stefani may play a character named "Buddha," a role which Williams wrote with Gwen in mind. In fact, all of the roles were created for the artists that have so far been cast. Up and coming rapper, DMX, who is featured on LL Cool J's single "4,3,2,1" is going to play the lead. R&B singer Taral Hicks will play his love interest. The film, about four guys in New York and their adventures, will also feature stars, Nas, Method Man, and TLC's T-Boz.

Filming for "Belly" is set to begin in a few weeks and should be out by the end of this year.
