Erics senaste album "Spirit" kom i slutet av 1999.

Efter succén med "The Right Way" var förväntningarna höga på Eric. Kritikerna var inte lika positiva till "Spirit" som till "The Right Way" men de var inte negativa. Låtarna Riding High, Eye of the Spirit och The Rain har spelats fltigt på radion och Erics vårturné var stor succé.
