My computing page.
This is a page about computing in general,
and computing problems in particular.
For those of you who
have never encountered a Computer before, it is good advice to
look around you. Indeed,
in the big WORLD out there, just outside your front door,
there is hardly any
place where the COMPUTERS doesn't rule. Even at work,
there is no other way
to survive the day, other then through co-operating with them.
Finally, I might
add, there is nothing more annoying than people who always know
better than yourself,
making work all the more brain-destructive.
One of the most annoying things with computers
is that when you finally
begin to master your new machine, it is
already hopelessly out of date.
More often than not, I've bought some
new piece of hardware for my hard
earned money, only to find out that a
few months later my new device
is concidered to be ridicoulously slow,
and a "bad buy".
Starting my electronic journey with a
P 75 four years ago, I now have a P 200.
The only original parts left from my original
setup are the 3.5' drive,
the old 850 Mb HD ( though now supplemented
by another 3.2 Gb HD ),
the trusty old 14' monitor, and
the tower case.
Indeed, I feel like I've spent more time
upgrading the hardware, than
using the software!
If your car had to be be upgraded as often
as your computer just to keep up
with the other traffic, wouldn't you consider
selling it and start bicycling?
On top of all this frustration, when you
finally have some time left at night,
who's occupying your precious PC for the
rest of the evening? Yeah, your kids!
Guess I'll have to get a second PC ( spotted
a nice little PII 400Mhz
the other day, just the thing for me...)
Well, I found time to write this down
after all...
