Slim (Marvin Scandrick) is the lead singer of 112. They are from Atlanta, GA, where they went to high school together. They sang in the tenor section at Atlanta's Walter Franklin George High School when a teacher picked the four to sing at a school coronation. They became a group by coincidence. After the coronation they were asked to do a talent show and it was that performance that caught the attention of managers Courtney Stills and Kevin Wales, who still are their managers today. Stills and Wales introduced them to Sean "Puffy" Combs of Bad Boy Entertainment who signed them to his label. "They're right in between Jodeci and Boyz II Men" Combs said about the group. He named them 112 after a club in Atlanta, and because no matter how things add up, 1 and 1 and 2 always equals 4, since there are four members of the group.

Besides singing lead Slim also plays the cello. He is a fan of rappers
2Pac, Biggie and Snipper Unit, and singers Babyface, Boo Boo and of course 112. He especially likes Babyface's Where Will You Go. His favorite movie is Menace II Society, and when he watches TV he watches the Monday Night Football. His favorite sports team is the Atlanta Braves, the best book he ever read is Sports Illustrated, and his dream car is an Acura NSX Convertible. Besides sports and writing songs which are his biggest interests, he likes to meet people and just have fun. To eat he likes chicken, and almost anything made of chicken.

The person who means the most to him in the whole world is his mother, who is his heroine.
Slim is adopted, in his family there's also his father, sister and a bunny named Mesha.
