The Cascade 3

This is the beginning of juggling evolution. All tricks evolved from the cascade many, many years ago. Once you've mastered it you can call yourself a juggler. So here it goes:

Basic throw
Start by throwing one ball between your hands. The peak of the ball should be above the shoulder on the opposite side of your body. Try to make the throws equally high on both sides. When this is done correctly it looks like the ball is traveling in a infinity sign (a 8 on the side) pattern. Don't watch the ball all the time, just notice when it peaks.

The Exchange
This is the essential part of all juggling. The balls must change places or else it won't be juggling. The more time you spend to get this correct the easier it gets later on. Take one ball in each hand. Throw ball l from your dominant hand(DH). When ball 1 peaks, throw ball 2 from your subdominant hand(SH) underneath ball 1. Now catch ball 1 in your SH and then catch ball 2 in your DH. Work on this until the balls travel smoothly. The throws must be equally high. If you experience problems with unequal height you can try starting with SH instead. It helps a lot if you say throw-throw-catch-catch as you do this.

Three throws
Take two balls in your DH and one in your SH. Do as you did in the exchange, but as ball 2 peaks, throw ball 3 underneath it. Catch ball 2 and ball 3 (ball 1 was caught right after ball 2 was thrown). People often throw ball 1 high, ball 2 medium high and ball 3 low. To correct this, say throw quiet when you throw the first ball, louder when you throw the next ball and loud when you throw the third ball.

More throws
Start throwing, and throw a ball underneath the incoming ball every time a ball peaks.

Tips
Balls with different color helps a lot. If you know a juggler, have him teach you. If you start walking forwards, stand in front of a wall. Don't raise your hands to catch the balls, gravity will make the balls come to your hands anyway. Practice a lot. Don't throw until the ball peaks. Don't give up. Everyone can learn to juggle.
