Likely the first Datejustmodel fitted with the Turn-O-Graph bezel. Arguably
one of the most beautiful vintage
Datejust versions....
Very fine original condition and correct calibre.
Catalogue describtion is as follows :
"337. A gold self-winding water resistant calendar wristwatch Signed
Rolex, model Oyster Perpetual Datejust Chronometer, model 6309, 1950īs.
The nickel plated self-winding chronometer movement numbered 97687, the
guilt dial with raised guilt dagger five minute indexes, luminous gold
hands, sweep centre seconds and date aperature, the gold case with rotating
knurled Turn-O-Graph bezel with five minute indexes, screw down winder
and screwed back, with leather strap and gold buckle, case dial and movement
signed."
The dial has very minor pitting with the name Datejust printed in red
and typical gold frame around the date window. No magnifier lens (correct).
The bezel is in a very good condition with no dings !
The case is also very fine with very few minor scratches. The watch is
in the same condition as when auctioned as I have choosen not to touch
itīs exterial condition.
It was sold under lot number 337 at the Ravenborg
auction
in London UK. Sticker from Christie´s still on the caseback
comes with a new auctioncatalogue were this watch is pictured and described.
