Very Rare Rolex Rite Time !

Rite Time ?

Often the question arises what Oystermodel is the rarest...
Some of the candidates from the 1950´s are :
6541,6543 Milgauss, 6202 Turn-O-Graph gold/steel,
stainless steel Day-Date,
the "Trieste"Oyster, 6085 cloisonne enamel,
6062 ss and a few others....
Here is a candidate I did not previously know even excisted.
Oysterdate Perpetual Rite Time.

The reference number 6518 is an original modelnumber
found in original printed matters from SA Rolex Geneva.
The sparepartcatalogue R 20 printed 1979 shows this reference
but later verisons such as the 1995 no longer mentions it..
These sheets also specify the parts fitted such as calibre, crystal and crown etc..

The Oysterdate is commonly known to be a manual wind
such as the 6694.
I am aware of 6518 Oysterdate Perpetual but this
Rite Time is even more rare.
The design of the case is used on a few other Oyster models such as the 6532 and others, not very common and with straight sides in comparisson to the Explorers and others from the 1950īs.

One of the more rare Rolex watches with this shape of the case is the
Deepsea (ref 6532).

Rite Time has the calibre marked 1030 although itīs a date...
(correct according to vintage original matters).
Possibly the rarest of all post WW-II Oystermodels...
I have decided to keep this watch due to it´s extreme rarety.
