Anders Jonsson is my name, with an origin from Gävle in the middle of Sweden, born in 1966. Since 1998 I'm living in Abisko 250 km north of the Arctic Circle. Abisko is a small village in a beautiful setting, surrounded by mountains and the large lake Torneträsk. Abisko also has a long tradition in painting, with many visiting artists in the beginning of the 20:th century. Artists as Helmer Osslund, Isaac Grunewald, and John Bauer and many others have been working here. It's a privilege and a difficult task to be working in their footprints. Even though painting is an important part of my life, my profession is as a researcher at the Climate Impacts Research Centre (link). If you want to contact me click here |
| Education in paining: Stated to paint in autumn 1986 on an evening course in Luleå with Rickard "Ricky" Sandberg (link). In 1987 I took two stimulating semesters at ABF-evening courses in Umeå with Katarina Söderdahl. Otherwise I'm self thought. | |
