- Save your display from
scratches
- In the manual for the MC16
it says "dont draw with the pen on
the display", which makes you wonder
how to move the cards of the solitaire
game included with WinCE, not to mention
how to use all the interesting notes and
drawing software around ?
- A solution that works for
me (and my solitaire loving girlfriend)
is to cover the display with a plastic
film cut out of a transparent map when
drawing on the display. This plastic has
the property to have very low friction,
it feels like teflon. After about a
hundred hours of solitaire, there are
still no scratches on the display, so I
belive it works. Further more, the low
friction plastic film has a better
feeling than the original display, making
less resistance for the pen. Of course
the screen gets a bit darker, but not
enough to be inconvenient
- Increase the speed when
you surf through a cellular phone
- It is a good idea to
create a special "MC16
startpage" on your homepage.
It should contain a minimum of graphics,
It should have a format and typeface
which is easy to read on the MC16.
It should be filled with links to
interesting low graphics, quick loading
sites.
This is because it is practically
impossible to surf in the ordinary way at
a speed of 9.6k
so it pays very good to have a prepared
startpage with MC16 friendly links.
- My own MC16 startpage.
- Connect a headset to the
"Surf anywhere case", so you can ansver
incomming calls without having to remove the
phone from the case.
- I´m working on it, have
to untangle the wiring of the cable
connection that can be made between the
MC16 and a cellular phone first, so I
know if a headset and an MC16 can be
connected on the same time. I´m wating
on a cable at the moment.
- By the way, I plan to
include a tiny FM receiver in the
"Surf anywhere case", so I can
listen to it through the headset, and
have it all connected so that an
incomming call switches the headset back
to the cellular.
