  • Surfing with 56k from the MC16
    How ? Not with a cellular at the moment anyway (1998).
    I´m using a telephone modem, a US Robotics Sportster Flash 56k which I connect to the synchronization port of the MC16.
    You have to use the synch-cable and a zero-modem cable in serial between the MC16 and the modem,
    (see the note about the wiring of the synch-cable and zero modem cable, and the note about how to get a true RS232 port to the MC16).
  • Settings
    Remember to create a new remote networking connection, where you specify a modem on the serial port instead of internal modem , or IR modem.
    Also change the speed settings according to the modem you will use.
  • Does it work ?
    Yes, it is quite a joy to surf with the 48k connection you usually gets, compared to 9.6k.
