ERIK IN AUSTRALIA 1999

As you can see we had very nice weather when we left Sydney. It was warm and sunny. Little did we know what was waiting the coming days.

Sydney Opera House

It was rain, rain and then a little more rain as we were passing the 'Gold Coast', the 'Sunshine Coast' etc. This picture is taken at the 'Big Banana' at Coff's Harbour. Then the worst was yet to come.

The Big Banana

Here is Surfer's Paradise south of Birsbane. Still not so rainy, but the next day in Brisbane it really started, so no pictures from Brisbane.

Surfers Paradise

Now we're passing the Tropic of Capricorn. Anybody mentioned the Troipcs have the wet season now? Here it's not raining, but the day before in the rain forest of Fraser Island it was just crasy.

Tropic of Capricorn

A little better as we stopped in Airlie Beach and took a boat trip to the Whitsunday Islands, but now we're told that the cyclon Rhona is heading for Cairns, just like we are in a few days.

Boat Trip

We landed on two of the islands, and this is the second, Hamilton Island.
