ERIK IN AUSTRALIA 1999

No pictures from Darwin, but here we're heading for the Kakadu National Park. I found this termite mound along the way.

Termites

In the Kakadu National Park we took a boat trip on the Yellow Waters. Now in the wet season it's water everywhere, not just in the river itself.

Yellow Waters

After Kakadu we were going to see the Katherine Gorge, but it was closed because of too much water. Instead we carried on south, and here we have our camp at Devil's Marbles, one of the two 'Bush Camps' on the trip.

In Alice Springs we made a longer stop and had time to fly with ballon over the outback.

Here we have landed and start to let the air out of the ballon.

There were many Aboriginals in Alice Springs and you could also by their art or one of these didgeridoos.
