After seeing Ayers Rock and travelling in the coach for 25 days it felt like we had seen the best. But we had a long way back to Sydney and a few other places to stop at. First we went south to Coober Pedy, the opal town where most people live in dugouts underground. Here is such a home that we visited.
We also slept underground. Here's the coach outside the cave. The entrance is through the door to the right of the coach.
We went on to the south and reached Adelaide before turning east to Sydney.
After Adelaide we passed the Barossa Valley where we visited a winery at this castle.
At Renmark we got a surprice when this guy turned up at the camp and entertained us with jokes and music.
Day 30, the last day of the trip. Now we're only 100 kilometers from Sydney in the Blue Mountains. This formation is called the 'Three Sisters'.
So now it's over. You have seen a selection of my pictures from Australia 1999. Perhaps I will go back there some time, but until then you and I can go through these pages again.
