Office furniture system

Serie e
covers t wo of Kinnarps most important product-groups -storage and tables. The scope of the commission has been som hundred elements to design and design-coordinate. The goal has been a functional and modular system for the European markett basic but with an accent.

Design of serie e™ Complex - all in all som hundred details to design and to coordinate the design of. Kenneth Österlin has designed the furniture serie and been responsible for the coordination of the design. The main part of the designwork has been carried through during one year.

Kinnarps plans to reach a leading position on the European market of office furniture. This has guided the design. The traditional Scandinavian has been blended with a European style. Wood has been balanced with painted metal surfaces and plastic. The base of the tables have a more robust style. Design for a mass-market, but yet a clear identity.

This needs a rational production. (One cupboard e.g. leaves the production line every twenty seconds). Modules, drilled hole measurements and e.g. the production demands of wood are such examples. The design-work has been carried through in collaboration with the production.

Transportation directly to the customer is a part of Kinnarps policy. The design has been made without details poking out which can be broken off or damage. A clean and tidy design is gained. Low weight to create good working-conditions for the delivery-people. Some heavy parts are e. g. divided into two pieces. The building-possibilities with the "puzzle-parts" have also become greater.

Serie e™ office furniture is not only cupboards and tables but an effective storage system - a whole serie of cupboard-details such as document-tray, filing shelf and pen-tray, all in plastic - and a nice complete workplace with add-ons for the table such as a smart table-shelf and a notice-board with a neat box for surplus cablage for e. g. the laptop. The parts have been coordinated to one product family both conceming the shape of the design and the possibilities of combinations.
