Major Cities

The capital of Sweden is Stockholm, located on the Southeast coast. Stockholm has a population of about 1.5 million, not that much compared to many other capitals in the world but still the largest capital in the northern countries. The pictures below show "Gamla Stan", which is the oldest part of Stockholm, and the beautiful archipelago right outside the city. Stockholm in the summer time is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

The second largest city is Gothenburg on the west coast, close to the Norwegian border. Gothenburg is famous for its pubs, restaurants, sailing and friendly people. The third city is Malmö, located in the province of Skåne, in the south part of Sweden, very close to Denmark, which makes the rest of Europe very accessable.
