Project Objectives

The objective of making this web-page about Sweden, was to give people not familiar with the country the chance to learn a little bit about the cold country on the other side of the planet. I also think that it is fun to try to promote my home country to others. Hopefully I will make someone a bit more curious about Sweden, and who knows - maybe they'll go there.

I am quite happy with the outcome of my project. However, it would have been fun to have the time to go into more details and specific areas, which I liked to do before I started. This is mainly a page designed for those who have very limited knowledge about Sweden. The short time and loads of other assignments have forced me to put some strains on my work.

Clever Features

I think that what I am the most proud of in this project is the clickable image map of Sweden. This is because I had to go outside the lab resources to find a tool for establishing the coordinates. The map of Sweden is perfect for the clickable feature, since it gives me a chance to link to specific web-sites that are relevant. In this case, I linked a few cities on the map to official pages about these places, where the reader can find more specified information than I, for obvious reasons, can provide in my web-page.

Borrowed Features

The clickable image map was made with help from Poor Persons Image Mapper, which is a very user friendly tool that I highly can recommend to others. I have also borrowed my background, featuring elks (animals commonly found in Sweden), from Windyweb. I am very happy with this background, and have made it the core of my design for this page.

Browser Comparison

I have had some difficulties during the making of this page, with images that don't show up in Internet Explorer, only in Netscape. And some pictures that show up in Explorer do not show up in Netscape. All the final pages are now showing in Internet Explorer, but not in Netscape.
