FOXTERRIER

Fox terrier: The fox terriers history can be traced back to England, where fox hunting was an established sport. The fox terrier is divided into two breeds. The Wire Fox Terrier and the Smooth Fox Terrier. The wire fox terrier is descended from the rough coated black and tan terrier and was used for hunting fox, while the smooth fox terrier is descended from the smooth coated black and tan terrier and was used as a fox and ratting dog. The wires coat is dense and wiry. The smooths coat is straight and smooth. Both breeds coat colors are mainly white, with black, black and tan, or tan markings. The average fox terrier weighs about 17 lbs. and is 15 inches tall at the shoulder.
