Sextet

Brassband

Company big band

The sextet
The sextet is named "Desideria" and dates back to early 1900. It was started and managed by one man during the first 50 years. His sons were also playing in the band and the music was the "pop music" of the time.

The players used the following instruments: Soprano cornet, B-cornet ( That's my instrument) 2 tenor horns, horn in Eb and tuba. Strange enough, there was also a drummer, and the sextet thus consisted of 7 people. It was still called a sextet, because the drummer didn't count!!

Anyway,it's good fun to play this kind of music, even if sometimes you have difficulties reading the almost 100 year old arrrangements!

The Brassband

The brassband is located in Kävlinge a place not far from Lund in Scania (Skåne). The name is "Kävlinge Brass band. The musical style is pure English, i.e. brass band music in the best of traditions. We are of course not so tied to traditions that we can't play anything else! We mix freely everything from hymns to contemporary songs.
Rehersal every Monday night under our female, marvellous director, Mrs Kirsti Berg-Riser, from Norway.
I play the cornet here as well.

We need more musicians, so if you are interested, please send a mail mail to me.

The company band

The band is named after the company: Alfa Laval Orchestra

It is a small "Big band" with 2 trumpets, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, clarinet, guitar, piano, base and drums. I play lead trumpet.
Everybody in the band works for the same company, except the drummer, who is retired. Our music is very much taken from the swing era.

We perform mostly on company parties etc and have been playing together for nearly 15 years.
