A cult album, a party album: raw German power! This is a "get-drunk-and-get-crazy" album. Nothing more. You dont lay in your soft bed and relax while listening to this....
It is hard to describe Rammstein´s music. Some call it synth, some call it metal. But to deliver a clear picture of this mess, I call it Industrial-synth-metal...or something. They biuld their music on (sampled?) guitars, playing basic hard riffs. Thats about it. Very simple in fact. But the extra spice comes in the form of the singers voice: raw and dark voice, but yet clear. And of course in German.
The lyrics (I am not so good in German, but I can understand some words ot more) are also raw, with nice and cute things like young people dying, skin turns into red.....But the ltrics are not the important thing. The music is. Incredible!

RAMMSTEIN
Mutter
Rammstein anno 2001. The guitars are here as they should, but not as much as
the
earlier albums, and there are more effects, samples or whatever it is, but you
can still hear it´s Rammstein from the very first song. The vocals are
as they should: RAW and German......When I listen to this I want to drink wine
and jump around in a dark room with candles.....
This album is more complex than the earlier ones. More advanced guitars and, as I said, keyboards and samples. In an excellant way!

I don't know how many album this Greek group have released, but there is probably around ten...or more....I don't care anyway, cause this album is not good. But it is funny to here the singer, cause his English are as good as the music: crap. That's about the only thing to smile about. But if you are interesting of how the music sounds like, well, there are black metal influenced, but it is not fast. A mixture between goth and black metal is maybe the right direction. The music is melodic.....This could be a nice album if they changed the singer. The music is not so damn bad, but not good either. It's sounding like.....everything.,..but worse.....

"On Funeral Wings" are the first contact I make with Runemagick. Never heard a single tune before, even though I heard the name Runemagick before, in relation with Gothenburg bands like Dissection for example. I have never been interested simply. I regret that, cause this is an excellent show in slow, atmospheric death/doom metal! Runemagick has been around since the early 90's, but it's really in the end of that decade that Runemagick became the "real" Runemagick, as it sounds today. So these guys knows for sure how to play metal. Anyway, "On Funeral Wings" are a slow and heavy death/doom creation. In these days of play-as-fast-as-you-can it's nice to here brutality performed slow and heavy. Maybe that's why I like this album so much, 'cause I have nothing to compare this album with. "On Funeral Wings" are quite unique of it's kind I think, and that's a rare thing when it comes to music nowadays! So if you miss slow and heavy brutality in your worthless life and if you think Nile, Hate Eternal etc. are too fast, Runemagick are definitely the band for you.

This is a German band who´s been doing this for many years now. But they have never had a breakthrough. And thats strange, cause the music is very well and proffessional played. They biuld their music on catchy guitar melodies, but it´s not a power metal act. This is pure heavy metal, or pirate metal.....Becasue the lyrics are about pirates, treasures and battles.
I have only heard a handfull of their albums, so I am not so oriented in the RW world, but one thing I now for sure: There earlier albums are shit. This album (1991) and the albums just before and after this one, belongs to the better ones.

RUNNING WILD
Pile of Skulls
Exactlly in the same vein as the earlier one, but this one is even better. Just listen to "Black Wings of Death" and "Treasure Island". Great songs, and thats what "Blazon Stone" were missing. So, if you are curious about RW, buy this album. You will not be dissapointed!
