A visit to Stockholm
(in German)

Home

The first two days of the Swedish-Dutch cooperation at the Kaelltorpskolan 81 pupils, 27 pupils from Holland attending the 9th form and 54 Swedish pupils attending the 8th and 9th form, worked together on several topics. We divided the pupils into nine groups of nine pupils. In each group there were three Dutch pupils and 6 Swedish pupils. The pupils had to speak English or German. In some groups they could only use the English language because the Swedish pupils in these groups had never had any German lessons.

First they had they had to ask each other questions on the topics and write down the answers or they discussed about the topics and made notes during the discussion. After this the pupils had to write reports on the computer or send their report to Holland by E-Mail. One group made an interview after the discussion and recorded this on tape.

The pupils not only worked on the topics. Some made a photoproject and a videoproject and wrote down sentences with the pictures.

The most important aims of these activities were:

  • the pupils used a foreign language
  • the pupils learned something from each other culture
  • the pupils used several different kinds of media
