Sweden - Holland

In Holland there live about 16 million people. Holland is about 10 times smaller than
Sweden. There are  a few lakes there and lots of rivers and channels. It rains a lot in Holland.
The temperature is about –5 C in the winter about +25 C in the summer.
It´s not too expensive to live in Holland. The prices are much the same as in Sweden.
Some typical Dutch things are mills, tulips and  wooden shoes. Famous sights are for example
Amsterdam and Volendam. Volendam is a fishing town and Amsterdam is the capital in
Holland.
Amsterdam has a good football club called AJAX. In Amsterdam there live about 750000
inhabitants. Amsterdam has got its name from a river called Amstel. The town is very old.
In Holland children begin school at the age of four. That´s the primary school. There you stay
for eight years, then you go to secondary school. In that school you go four – six years. In
Holland they learn four languages: English, German, French and Dutch.
There are differences between Dutch and Swedish schools. In Holland the schools are much
bigger, 1300 pupils is normal. They don´t get school lunch free as we do in Sweden. The
grades are from 1 – 10. 1 is bad and 10 is very good.
It´s much stricter at school in Holland e.g if you are late they punish you by telling you that
you have to come one or two hours earlier the next day or they send you down to the
headmaster and he´ll tell you what to do.

More differences:

Sweden is much bigger than Holland. There is not as much forest as in Sweden. They have
got gas and oil, something that we don´t have. The climate is warmer and that´s natural
because we live further up in the north.
There are no high mountains, the result is more winds and that´s why they can use windpower
and we can´t.
Holland has a very complicated schoolsystem as well. They go to school much longer than we
do and they start earlier.
People in Holland eat almost the same food as people in Sweden and drive the same kind of
cars. What we haven´t got in Sweden is hagelslag, a sort of granulated chocolate that is eaten
on bread.

Holland

In Holland wohnen 16 Millionen Menschen. Die Meisten wohnen in den Großstädten
Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Den Haag.
Wilde Tiere: Kaninchen, Wildschweine, Rehe.

In Holland leben Menschen durchschnittlich 80 Jahre. In Holland gehen Kinder ab
4 Jahre in die Grundschule. Diese dauert 8 Jahre. Danach können die Kinder zu
einer allgemeinbildenden Schule oder eine Berufsschule gehen. Die Schule und die
Bücher kosten Geld. Die Eltern müssen zahlen. In Holland bekommt man Strafe, ob

Hier in Schweden isst man warm.
Es gibt viele Automarken in Holland. Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Kia, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Peugot usw. Es gibt jeden Tag viele Staus. Das wird immer
schlimmer. Man versucht Bus und Bahn zu fördern.
