Visitors so far:
Styrman v1.1 is a Windows NT/95/98 software that remote controls a number of Motorola URC-200 radios. A maximum of 256 radios can be connected to and controlled by one PC.
Styrman is a remote controlling software. It's able to control a total of 256 radios while using only one single RS-232 line.
This line may even be a dialup one, using a simple 1200 bps modem.
Styrman is currently used onboard all Swedish Göteborg-class Corvettes for controlling all VHF/UHF-equipment and has been doing so since 1995. More ships will follow when these radios are installed!
Some of the advantages of Styrman include:
- Frequency-hopping and mode/power adaption to avoid detection and or jamming.
- Quick emergency manouvering, beacon on 121,5/243 MHz for emergency locationing.
- All Maritime VHF-channels easily accesible as well as other prestored channels.
- Turns the URC-200 into a scanner for finding traffic (spectrum search and channel scan of up to 3000 channels)
- Styrman checks every connected radio and reports radio malfunctions as well as antenna SWR.
- Easy to learn: complete self-study course in standard Windows help files
- Intermodulation and other possible disturbances are continually calculated and displayed
- Really operator friendly !
- Cost effective !
One standard PC, using Windows 3.1/95/NT, is connected to the switch (direct or via modems) which in turn is context.htmlcapable of controlling a total of 256 radios. You only need one RS-232 line for controlling all
of these radios (256 lines would be a pain...).
Radios may also be assigned to a COM-port and dialed up if necessary.
