Nice Tools

I thought that I should share my divine knowledge of what's good and not. So I made this section. For every category there are one application that is better than the rest, and I am trying to gather them here. As you know - I am the best.

So far, I have added:

MP3/Music Player
DivX/Mpeg Movie Player
File Manager
Archive Program

MP3/Music Player

Winamp is the best player ever made and its UI(user interface) has been awarded I think. Supports MP3, MP2, WAV, WMA, XM etc.

DivX/Mpeg Movie Player

BSPlayer is by hästlängder much more efficient than Windows Media Player(which I wont link to) and supports all the common movie formats including DivX(if you have the DivX ;-) codec).

And finally its easy to browse through the movie with your arrow keys. You can toggle Full Screen with [Alt Gr] and [ENTER] or even with only [F] so you can do it with one hand. Not that I can think of any moment when I've ever needed to do it with one hand. God... who do you people think I am?

File Manager

Almost any file manager is better than explorer but there is one that beats them all. Windows Commander is not only a file manager but also a full functional FTP client. Windows Commander is a two-panel file browser and it can handle the "Desktop" and "Dial-Up" and all other windows special folders like Control Panel. It features multi-rename, folder synchronizing, file en/decoding, archive testing and much more.

Archive Program

Many people use winzip, as it is the good ol' father of the windows based archivers, but as many people(including me) have realized that it doesn't do everything you want, WinRAR on the other hand is extremely well equipped and can handle most types of archives including ZIP, RAR, CAB, ARJ, LZH, TAR, GZ, ACE, and more, it also allows you to "integrate it in your shell", so you get context menus with different things to do with your files and archives. I really like WinRAR!
