PepsiCo International USA gav tillstånd att sälja över 4
miljoner flaskor utgången samt möglig Pepsi.
Det var det danska bryggeri företaget FAXE som exporterade de 4.300.000 mögliga pepsi/7-up drickorna till Ryssland samt polen. En heldel personer blev sjuka. Men turligt nog dog ingen. Detta hände då 1993.
Några uttalande från några av de inblandade;
Mr. Joseph J. Joyce, Vice President of PepsiCo Inc:
"PepsiCo at no time made by warranties as to the condition of any
Pepsi-Cola or 7UP shipments or individual bottles, filled, produced, sold or
distributed by Exclusive Bottlers, incl. BGD. (...) PepsiCo at no time
controlled the "expiration dates", storage, shipment, or any other aspects or
condition of any products manufactured, bottled, sold or distributed by
Exclusive Bottlers."
Mr. John G. Luboya, attorney of PepsiCo Inc.:
"The mere ownership of a trademark, with the right to inspect for quality,
does not result in liability for manufacturing defects in the finished
product."
Med de här shokerande uttaladena menar dom att PepsiCo inte tar någon som helst annsvar för deras produkter.
