The regiment was raised in 1811. The
regiment was motorized in 1942 and was an armored infantry regiment between 1949
and 1963. The regiment is located at Revingehed and has the best training ground
for maneuver excercise in Sweden unless live ammo is to be used since such
training can not be performed at Revingehed. Live fire excercises are held at
Ravlunda and Rinkaby. After 2000 the regiment continued to train Strv 121
and Pbv 302 units for the new brigades.
The regiments colors are yellow and
red.
