The 9 cm recoilless rifle was the mainstay of the
anti-tank capability of the infantry until the early nineties when it
was replaced by the Rb 56 BILL. The infantry mounted the rifle in
Bandvagn 206. In the armor units a platoon of four terrain-car mounted
rifles were part of the armored infantry companies until the middle of
the eighties. Now they have been shipped to the Baltic nations as
military aid. With modern HEAT rounds they can still knock out APC:s and
older tanks. |
