Strv m/37 or as it was
affectionally known, "the chzech" was the first tank that equipped tank
companies on Gotland in 1942. It was already totally obsolete but since
the threat to Gotland mainly consisted of air assault or amphibious
landings with no armored vehicles the tank could still make its precense
felt. They were purchased from Chzechoslovakia in 1937 and a total of 48
tanks were bought. One vehicle remains in the brigade inventory as a
museumtank. It is is perfect working order and participates in the
yearly show for the conscripts relatives. |
