The Honey-company - Dala Honung HB In 1980 my wife and I started a commercial fulltime beekeeping/honey-producing firm. We both have a degree as Masters of Beekeeping and we used to operate 300 hives for honey-producing and another 400 mini-hives for Queen-breeding. But after my wife Agnes passed away in February 2001 I was forced to reduce the operation to a part-time business and in 2003 I quit and sold the company to retire.. We produced Carniola Queens for sale all over Sweden and some for export. My wife was responsible for the bookkeeping, sales and the Queen-breeding and together we shared the daily work with the bees and honey. We do the whole business-line: producing, packing, selling and delivering to groceries and end users. We also quite frequently attended all fairs in our region selling and promoting our products. It has been a tremendous life these 20 years. Every year gave us 6 months for DX chasing and travels and 6 months working side by side out in our beautiful nature with the bees.
