On two wheels

My wife Agnes and the R60/2

Back in 1957 to 1968 I had a couple of different motorcycles, Norton, AJS, Harley Davidson, BMW.
We spent a great time in the saddle cruising roads all over Sweden and really enjoyed the roaring from a twin-motor. In the spring 1968 we made a wonderful trip with our BMW R-50 down to Switzerland and Italy cruising the alp-roads. In the autumn we sold the beloved BMW and next spring our first son was born.
The years passed by and I always had the dream of once again stepping on a kick-start.
Sometimes dreams come true -early summer -97 my eyes fell upon an advertisement for an old BMW and the next day we drove 350 km south and returned home with the bike, a BMW R60/5 from 1970.
We made many trips that first summer and then in 1998 we found a BMW R60/2 from 1968 with the Earls-fork and added that to our collection. It was exactly the same model we had 30 years ago and we loved to enjoy that model again. Now we did a lot of trips in the summers of 1999 and 2000 many times accompanied by our son, Tomas, on the 1970 model.
On this R60/2 I made a complete restoration and repainting job during spring 2001.
Summer 2001 I bought a BMW K75 from 1986 in order to have a nice road cruising machine.
As a member of the local
Motorcycle Historic Society I quite frequently join the meetings
It is very nice to see and hear all those old machines. Many are in excellent condition.
I am a member of the Swedish
BMW-Club and the SMC
I hope to meet you some day on the road! Keep the wheels spinning!
