Cairo: Clarity out of Chaos
STEP IN & ENJOY!
Salaam wa Alaikum!
During the second half of October 1997, I paid a visit to the country I spent a great deal of my youth in, Egypt. For the first time in seven and a half years, I managed to go back and make a in-depth study and detailed documentation of what I saw and experienced. The last time I ever placed foot on Egyptian soil was on the 12th of April of 1991, only four days after my 12th birthday which I spent at the Suez Canal watching the Allied forces heading off to the war in the Persian Gulf. The reason my family and I left Egypt was partly due to the threat of nuclear barrage on Egypt from Iraq, which was pure nonsense. I had many doubts about anything ever happening to Egypt and especially Cairo because of the strength I have seen in the community as a whole. My stay in Egypt included nearly two weeks in Cairo, where I lived with my brother Amir in our old apartment viewing the Nile, and two days out in the Sinai Peninsula.

These two weeks which I spent in the land of ancient civilization have been a spiritual experience and a pilgrimage of reality. Naturally, things don't always go the way you want them to, but that's life, always surprising you when you least expect it. I have published this site for you, the public to see, hear, learn, and experience just a taste of what Cairo is really all about. I hope you enjoy my experience. Please remember: these incidents that took place don't necessarily mean that they are the general impression of what Cairo is all about, unless they trully are. Well, that's for me to know and you to find out.......Shukran.
