Effects of Toxicants on Gene Expression and Intracellular Signalling

Det senaste symposiet, som var det femte i ordningen hade titeln "Effects of Toxicants on Gene Expression and Intracellular Signalling". Det hölls på Vår Gård i Saltsjöbaden utanför Stockholm den 14-16 september 1997. Det vetenskapliga programmet behandlade hur farmakologiska och toxiska ämnen aktiverar intracellulära signalsystem, förändrar genuttryck och påverkar cell-cykeln. Möjligheten att använda kunskapen om dessa processer för toxikologiska bedömningar och riskvärdering behandlades också. Symposiets forskningsområde bedöms som viktigt för etableringen av djurfria metoder för studier av toxiska effekter.
Programmet bestod av sessionerna: "Signal transduction", "Cell cycle/death", "Stress response" och "Application of molecular biology in in vitro toxicology".
Proceedings från symposiet kommer att publiceras i tidskriften "Toxicology In Vitro" i början av år1998.
