Welcome to my Pulp Fiction page
This page is dedicated to one of the best movies ever - Pulp Fiction.
Here I'll try to put together some facts about the movie and the actors.
I'll also put together some links to other good Pulp Fiction and Quentin Tarantino pages
But we'll start with the facts, and first - The Movie:
The movie is not one story, as most recular movies, but four. These four stories are
put together and one story is a part of another.
The first story is:
The story about Vincent (John Travolta), a hitman that works for a man called Marcello.
He's supposed to look after Marcello's wife Mia (Uma Thurman). He ends up going dancing wih her
and then she almost dies of a heroine over dose. A scene to remember is the one where Vincent is supposed
to put an adrenalin shot in Mia's heart and she jumps up with the shot in her
(you who have seen it knows what I meen).

Vincent with the adrenalin shot
The second story is:
The story about butch, the boxer (Bruce Willis). He makes a deal with Marcello to throw
a fight but then he ends up winning. This, of course, makes Marcello a very angry man
so he puts out a contract on his head.

Butch, the boxer
The third story is:
The story about the two hitmen Vincent and Jules (Samuel L. Jackson).
They are sent out by their boss, Marcello, to get back a briefcase that belongs to him.
This does not, of course, go without problems. Those of you who've seen it knows what
I mean when I talk about the scene where they are almost shoot but are saved as by a miracle.
Or the scene where they discuss hamburgers in Europe (See picture below).

-(Vincent)"Do you know what they call a quarter pounder cheese in Europe?"
-(Jules)"They don't call it a quarter pounder cheese?"
-"No, they have the metric system, it woulnd't work"
-"So, what do they call it?"
-"A royale with cheese."
-"So what do they call a Bigmac?"
-"Bigmac is the same but it's le Bigmac"
-"What do they call a Whooper?"
-"I Don't know I didn't go to Burger king"
The fourth story is:
The story about Hunny Bunny and Pumpkin, who decides to rob a coffee shop. Two of the customers
are Vincent and Jules...

Hunny Bunny and Pumpkin on the move
As I mentioned, the stories are put together:
Vincent and Jules stops Hunny Bunny and Pumpin's robbery.
Vincent is sent out to kill Butch and gets killed by him.
Butch manages to get free from Marcello by rescuing him
from a rather embarrasing situation.
Well, this is the story in short. And if you haven't seen the movie
I suggest you do it.
Some Facts About The Actors
John Travolta:

John Travolta was born on february 18 in 1954. He first did some TV-series/movies
in the middle of the seventies. But his first real succes was the movie
"Saturday Night Fever" in 1977. For which he was nominated for an Oscar. Next big
hit was the movie "Grease" with Olivia Newton John. In 1983 he made the sequal to
"Saturday Night Fever" - Staying Alive, (directed by Sylvester Stalone). After this he
went nearly a decade without making any succesful movies. But in 1989 he got back in
business with "Look Who's Talking" with Kristie Alley. Which got two sequals, in 1990 and 1993.
But the real return to the A-list in hollywood was in 1994 when he had a leading role in
Pulp Fiction. Two other recent movies with him you should see are "Get Shorty" and "Broken Arrow".
Samuel L. Jackson:

Samuel L. Jackson was born in 1948 in Washington DC. Before he started his movie career he spent
nearly a decade working with the acclaimed Negro Ensemble Company and the NY Shakespeare Festival.
He also had roles in two August Wilson plays. His first step in to showbusiness was in a couple of
Sike Lee movies and it was in one of his movies he got his big break in 1991 when played in "Jungle fever".
This led to small roles in some movies during 1991 and 1992, for instance "Patriot Games" and
"Fathers and Sons". After this he managed to advance to leading roles in two comedies: "Loaded Weapon 1"
and "Amos & Andrew" Before the year was over he had had leading roles in three other, wildly different movies:
"Manace II society", "Jurassic Park" and "True romance". The last one was written by Quentin Tarantino
and next big role was in his "Pulp Fiction" in 1994. For this he received and Oscar nomination for
Best Supporting Actor.
Bruce Willis:

Bruce Willis was born on March 19 in 1955. In the beginning of the eighties he appeared in some movies:
"The First Deadly Sin" (1980), "Prince Of The City" (1981) and "The Verdict" (1982). But he got his
first real success in 1985 when he started to play the investigator Davis Addison on ABC's Moonlighting,
a part that he continued to play until 1989. After this he got parts in two Blake Edwards comedies:
"Blind Date" (1987) and "Sunset" (1988). But mose people might think of the Die Hard movies when they
think of Bruce Willis, and next he appeared in the just mentioned "Die Hard" (1988). It got two sequals:
"Die Hard 2" (1990) and "Die Hard with a Vengeance" (1995). In 1989 he made the voice of Mikey in
"Look Who's Talking", where John Travolta plays one of the leading roles, (see the John Travolta section above).
In 1994 he got the role as Butch (the boxer) in "Pulp Fiction". After this he has appeared in two hit
movies: "Twelve Monkeys" (1995) and "Last Man Standing" (1996). But Bruce Willis hasn't always been
successful. He has made some "flops", that's movies that the critics didn't like, in the recent years:
"Bonfire of the Vanities" (1990), "Hudson Hawk" (1991) (this one is actually not that bad), "The Last Boy Scout"
(1991) (not that bad either) and the erotic thriller "Color Of Night" (1994).
Bruce Willis is married to Demi Moore and together with his fellow action stars Sylvester Stalone and
Arnold Schwarzenegger he has the successful food chain Planet Hollywood.
Uma Thurman:

Uma Thurman was born on April 29 in 1970. When she was 15 years old she moved to New York to
become an acress. For a year she had to support herself by washing dishes and modelling. But
she didn't have to go on like this for long. After a year in N.Y. she got her first leading role
in the low-budget thriller "Kiss Daddy Good Night" (1987). After her next project "Jonny Be Good" (1988)
she got a more rewarding role in Terry Gilliam's "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen". For the next
years she appeared in a couple of films that didn't make that much noice: "Final Analysis", "Jennifer 8"
and "Mad Dog and Glory". In 1994 she got a step up in her career when she areed to appear in
"Pulp Fiction". For her performance she received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
Next she appeared in some comedies: "Beautiful Girls" and "The Truth about Cats and Dogs".
Her present boyfriend appeares to be Ethan Hawke, with whom she co-stars in the futuristic thriller
"Gattica". She will also appear in the next Batman movie (maybe she can make them better,
since they're only getting worse and worse).
