FedEx MD-11, N601FE (msn 48401). FedEx is a carrier in need for more capacity. Although the airline bought 19 MD-11s new from McDonnell Douglas, they will also acquire a number of second-handed MD-11s, first from American Airlines. This aircraft, N601FE was the first of the MD-11s FedEx bought directly from MDC and is here seen during turn-around at Memphis in 1991.
