Paul’s Chesspage

I have played chess since I was about 8 years old. For many years it have been my favorite hobby. I have played in many clubs. At the moment I play for Olofströms SK. I’m also a frequent player at Internet Chess Club (ICC) where I’m known under the name FruitOfTheLoom. I have a Swedish rating of about 2000 and have been there for some years.

When I decided to set up a chesspage I thought much about what angel it should have. On ICC it often happens that players with lower rating asks "How did You become that strong?". Not a very easy question. However, I will here give some advice how to strengthen your play. The tips is meant for players who just passed the beginner stadium and want to improve their understanding of chess. To start with, my advice is about the opening ideas.

I think the best way to improve always is to meet the openings and positions You feel most uncomfortable at. That’s why I give some tip on how to beat me!
