Hints:

Attack the ghôls if they try to surround you.
Take the northern route.
There is a bow, but you dont need it.
Approach the last horde slowly. Alric will deal with them.

Main threats: Myrmidons and soulless.

The explanation

You will arrive right into the action. Let the computer move your units up to the dunetop. Ghols will sweep out to surround you. You will need to disrupt this. Send the dwarf and a berserker against one arm and let the archer target a ghol in the other.

One ghôl will probably survive and run northeast. Follow him. You will fin out that berserkers are in fact slightly faster than ghôls.

Round the flat cliff. Some ghôls will move in a northeast direction in front of you. You can charge them with the berserkers and the dwarf - which is fun.
Or you can set up a defensive position on a dune and send a berserker to lure the ghôls to you.

Continue east.
You will find two soulless on another flat cliff. East of this cliff are a group of myrs and soulless.Feint them with a berserk and pull back. The soulless should come down the cliff. Then deal with the myrs and soulless in the pass. They will feint all the time. Just set up a defensive position at long bowshot range.

You can get a pretty useless bow or continue with the mission.
Getting the bow.

Go around the eastern mountain range. You will see forces of myrs and soulless moving into position. Move back and let them do it. If you attack immediately, both groups will hit you. If you let them get into position you can deal with only the northern part.

Assuming that went ok, you are now essentially done. You will see ghôls, but they run when they spot you.

A huge force is behind the dark cliff. You will see a shade here, why they are called that should be obvious. Slowly inch you whole group down the slope near the dark cliff. Keep your units together. After a while some myrs will spot you and turn towards you. Continue a short bit more and Alric will suddenly get his strength back and say "I will handle this".

And he sure did handle it.
As soon as Alrics spells stops, that is the sound of explosions dies down rush your units down.
Let the berserkers attack the shade, and move the rest of the units up the slope of the dark cliff.

When the shade is killed run up the dark cliff. Alric will tell you to follow. Dont dally or you will be killed by approaching masses of units. He will stop in the middle of the top. When your units are close enough he will teleport you out.
Victory.

You can also go for the bow. The you need to defeat a similar setup of myrs and soullless.

Where is the bow.

Its a trap.

South of this is a house with a bow in front of it. There are ghôls hiding inside the house so approach with caution.

Pick up the bow by selecting the archer and clicking on the bow.
Use it by selecting the archer and pressing T and clicking on a target. If the arrow hits the target, it turns to stone. Ok, but takes too much time to be useful.
