Sedan 600-talet har namn antecknats i längder och förknippats med dagar, först var det dagar förknippade med helgon och deras minnesdagar. Under 1500-talet utkom den första svenska almanackan (min källa menar nog "första tryckta") och namnen har haft dagar sedan dess.(Källa Namnboken, 1991)
Exakt vilka namn som hör till vilka dagar har ändrats under åren.

About names and calendars.
Ever since the 7th century Christian names have been written down and connected to specific days. At first it was days sacred to saints. During the 16th century the first (my source probably means "first printed") swedish calendar was out and ever since then the days in the official calendars have had Christian names associated with each day.
The exact names have changed throughout the years, most notably several times during the last yeats.

Vad är "Namnsdagar"?
"Namnsdagar" är en fil med namn som Palm "events" till din Palmpilot.
Filen Namnsdagar innehåller namnen enligt 2000 års kalender och filen Namnsdagar2001 namn enligt 2001 års kalender. Vad är det för skillnad mellan namn i 2000 respektive 2001 års kalender?

What is it?
Namnsdagar is a file with dated but untimed events for you PalmPilot.
Namnsdagar contains the name used in the calendar for the year 2000.
Namnsdagar2001 contains the name used in the calendar for the year 2001.
Some people, whose names where lost in the shuffle, prefer the older calendar.
Here is a list of the differences, in swedish.

Installera.
Ladda ner filen Namnsdagar.zip eller Namnsdagar.hqx(Se ovan).
Starta programmet Palm Desktop.
Välj "ImportŠ" i menyn "File"
Välj filen Namnsdagar, sätt "Fields" till "Calendar" och sätt "Delimiters" till "Tab & Return".
Tryck "OK".
Om allt fungerat så skall du nu ha ett eller två namn på varje dag, och namnen kommer att upprepas varje år.

Installation
Download Namnsdagar.hqx or Namnsdagar.zip (links above)
Start the program Palm Desktop
Choose "Import..." in the menu "File"
Select the file Namnsdagar, set "Fields" to "Calendar" and set "Delimiters" to "Tab & Return" (see illustration)
Hit OK.
Now you should have the names in your Palm desktop program. Hotsynch and they are on your Palm.

Användande.
Namn på dagar kommer att finnas som en notering för varje dag.

Usage
The names simply appear as untimed events on the respective days. See image on left.

Kända fel

Det finns ett känt fel i namnsdagar, personligen ser jag det som en korrektion av en felaktig stavning i kalendern, vilket borde ge en ledtråd till vad "felet" är.

Known bugs

There is one known error in the files, I see it as a correction of an incorrect spelling in the calendar.
