Remarks:
I grew up in one of the biggest cities in Manila where I graduated from elementary. At the age of thirteen, I moved to my uncle's to study high school in our province. It took almost a year before our whole family moved to this wonderful province. This is where I got lots of academic achievements, exciting friends and most of all, memorable experiences.

I came to Sweden in the spring of 1995, having been adopted by my aunt and her Swedish husband (now my adoptive parents) who understood my strong will of reaching my goal in life. I was then 15, very fresh and quite weak but eager to face the new challenges. Everything's new: the culture, language, people, food, climate and many other things. It's very hard to cope with the new environment, but now, it seems much easier to deal with it.

After almost three years of living in a foreign country, I can see the differences between my native country and Sweden. In some aspects, I consider Sweden a good place to live in but I have never thought of abandoning my own country. The Philippines is still my home and this is where I belong. I could be practising the Western way of thinking and living because of the influences I get, but here inside of me shows a Filipina and still a Filipina in her own simple way.
