The Gza are one of the three Co-founders of the Clan, He is refered to as the head of the Wu-Tang. "We form like voltron and the Gza is the head".

In 1991 he released his debut album "Words from the Genius" on Cold chillin, but the Gza has been in the game since day one. "I´ve been writing lyrics, or trying to write lyrics, before Sugar Hill made their record," he insists. Me and Rza and Dirty was always there, in ´79 and ´80. We always had it in us".
Gza and his two cousins Prince Rakeem and Ol´Dirty Bastard formed what would become known as the Wu-Tang Clan.
It was The Genius who taught the Rza about the Parliament of Gods and Earths. The Parliament is effectively a church, though denying the existence of any supernatural 'Mystery God.'It teaches the 120 lessons of the Living Mathematics, the metaphysical teachings of the Five Percent Nation (an offshoot of the Nation of Islam). According to this religion there are hidden meanings in all things, names, numbers and signs are repositories of a body of knowledge that is withheld from 85% of the people. That five percent, and handed down by the remaining 10%, the Poor Righteous Teachers. Mathematics runs through the semantics of the Wu-Tang Clan.

In 1995 The Genius released his second solo album Liquid swords.
